I've come too far to watch some name-dropping sleaze...

That's right... Taylor Swift just announced TS12, her new album Life Of A Showgirl! Now, am I fully versed in TTPD & Anthology? Honestly no... I need a little more time with The Anthology and I'll tell you why. I'm a CD girl. Call me stuck in the past but the fact is, I love listening to music in my car more than anywhere else and I have an older vehicle. Although I can plug the aux cord into my phone and play Spotify, the volume only goes up so far with the aux cord plugged in and I need my music loud and proud. So of course, I bought TTPD when it first came out on CD and didn't really listen to any Anthology songs until the CD came out awhile later. And I'm still learning some of those songs, almost like it was a new album itself. So did I need more work from her? And the answer is, who doesn't? Honestly, I can’t contain my excitement.

I'm the first to encourage someone to take a fucking break once in awhile, especially after busting their ass and working nonstop because burnout is a real (and terrible thing). So of course, I don't expect her to keep putting albums out every couple months for her adoring fans but... THAT WOMAN DOESN'T QUIT. In the New Heights podcast, she admitted she basically decided to, and worked on, this album in Sweden (shoutout to my other Stockholm Eras tour girls - we were there!!!) while she was just starting the first leg of her international tour. Keep in mind TTPD had just come out. Which she also wrote and recorded and produced. On the first leg of her tour.

Who makes an entire new album while doing the biggest arena tour in her entire career, and possibly in the history of the music industry ever!? And then does it a second time!? Whether you like her music or not, denying her talent and hard work and skill is just to live in pure denial at this point because how much proof do you need? I mean I barely can function after sitting in one Zoom meeting that runs over an hour. I just don't know how she does it except for the fact that she loves it; she loves writing and loves creating work for herself and her fans. And I think that is beautiful.

Her storytelling has this incredible way of making you feel understood, and she's not afraid to embrace both the highs, lows, good, bad, and everything in between. She is an amazing writer and I believe there is at least one song out there (of hers) for everyone - you just have to find it. And yes, this is a hill I will die on.

This new album promises to dive even deeper into her world, but with all bops this time. It feels like the perfect next chapter, as you can see her happiness radiating on her face during the entire podcast. She has been glowing now for years and I love that for her, and for all the young girls (of all ages!) that she is inspiring by being herself and living with her heart open.

So yeah... I'm excited. I am anxiously counting down the days 'till October 3rd ... obviously the best month of the year anyway. TS12 will be the soundtrack to my move, I already know it.

PS: Did anyone else start crying when she was tearing up telling the story of finding out she finally owned her masters or are you a robot?

PS2: She mentioned Red was her favorite re-record and said "can you imagine if I wasn't able to put out ATWTMV?" And no, I don't want to even begin to imagine not being able to hear that masterpiece. #redstanforlife

...tell me what are my words worth.
